My Story

Hi and Thank You for visiting my page! I've signed up to take part in the Royal British Legion Survival Challenge 2024. I've always fancied myself as a bit outdoorsy but I've seldom put it into practice. Well, I'm a few days off turning 40 and think it's about time to put my money where my mouth is. This will be my own little mini Alone challenge and it's for a great cause, too.

My family has a history of military service and some of you will have followed my 2023 trip to Belgium to visit the war grave of my Great Uncle Jacky. I felt there was some sense in doing something more for those who have served but who need support today. So, here I go!

On this challenge I'll be working as a team with fellow survivors, learning to build a camp from scratch and getting completely back to nature. We'll be covering key survival skills like fire lighting, water purification and foraging, and generally getting very muddy/stinky in the very unpredictable British weather.

By taking part in this challenge I'll be raising funds to support the Royal British Legion, founded to help those in need following a national crisis. Right now they are helping those who are isolated from family, facing homelessness, struggling to feed their children and are in financial crisis. They work tirelessly to ensure that those who have served are being looked after no matter what challenges they, and the country faces.

If you can donate, even just a little, it will help this important work continue.

Thanks a lot.
